Chapter 14

Antonia knelt there, frozen, unsure what to do, Luke came up behind her,

"Antonia, did they take her"

"Yes" tears ran down Antonia's face

"Oh god, Antonia, I'm so sorry, we'll get her back I promise" Luke put his arms around her. He picked her up and they went back to base.

The Krygon dumped Maybelle on the ground of the ship, the others all stared at her,

"What is this" the Krygon General asked

"The friend of Difinity. We can trade her for the planets surrender"

"Interesting  and what if they refuse" asked the Krygon General

"We torture and kill her" Maybelle trembled in the corner

     "What are you doing here" Fifi asked as she came back onto the bridge "oh did they kidnap you, I'm surprise they haven't tortured you yet, you know I've seen what they can do and it's brutal"

"Surprised they haven't done the same to you" Maybelle replied

"Why would they, I'm on their side"

"Well that's either going to get you killed or locked up into a high security cell"

"I don't think so Maybelle, when I've finished I will be the ruler of everyone with Luke by my side" Fifi laughed

"That will never happen, Luke will never want you, also Antonia has told everyone what you have done, you are now a wanted criminal, and your parent's have even been arrested"

"You're lying" Fifi violently grabbed Maybelle

"No I'm not I saw them, and your Mother is never getting out"

"Why not"

"She's admitted to starting the Astrithian War"

"Ahh" Fifi screamed and threw Maybelle against the wall with her power

"What is going on" the Krygon General asked

"She's a lying bitch" Fifi scold

"No I'm not, your Mother is in prison for life and so will you once all this is over" Maybelle stood up

"Shut up" Fifi choked Maybelle who dropped to her knees

"That is enough Fifi, she is valuable, we will trade her the planets surrender" the Krygon General stepped in

"She's not valuable, she's nothing, no one will trade for her" Fifi stated, Maybelle smiled then pulled out a gun, the same gun Antonia had given her and shot three Krygon's and Fifi before running off through the ship.

"We'll get her back Antonia, I promise" Crystal said after Luke told everyone what had happened,

"If they haven't already killed her"

"Arnold" Seraphina shot out "Don't talk like that, Antonia I'm sure she's still alive, they will hopefully want to trade her"

"If they do then they won't want anything but the planet and our surrender" Luke put in

"We have to get her back Luke, she's like a sister to me" tears streamed down her cheeks

"Antonia we will get her back, I won't rest until she is safe at home" Luke kissed her and put his arms around her again

"I know, I don't want her getting tortured" she cried into his shoulder

"General Alcatech any ideas" Crystal asked

"I will get one of the ships to try and get a map to the main Krygon ship, see if there is any chance we can infiltrate it"

"Ok let me know as soon as you do"

"Yes General" General Alcatech left the room.

Maybelle held her gun out as she turned a corner on the main Krygon ship, she slowly made her way down another corridor. The ship was dark and gloomy, it was cold and lights flickered on and off, scary noises came from the distance. She trembled and shivered, she needed to find somewhere to hide until she could get off the ship. She heard a noise then shot down three more Krygons , she ran round two more corners as quick as she could before more Krygons turned up. She stopped to catch her breath before hearing another noise,

"Pisst" she looked around knowing it wasn't a Krygon

"Pisst"

Another Krygon jumped out at her and knocked her to the ground, a tall figure then shot down the creature and grabbed Maybelle's hand

"With me" came a deep dreamy voice, they ran through the ship and into a small hidden room,

"Are you ok" the mystery person asked

"No I feel dizzy, really dizzy" she grabbed his arm then passed out

     "Am I going to get any help over here" Fifi asked

"Here patch yourself up, any of our medicine will kill you" the Krygon General threw some bandages at her. She patch herself up.

"I need to get back home, there's a whole hospital cabinet in my Fathers bathroom" Fifi said struggling to stand up

"We'll get you there but we will have to wait for the cover of darkness, we should be able to get a ship there unnoticed"

"Does your ship have an invisibility booster" Fifi asked

"Yes, why"

"Well I have a big garden maybe we could use my house as cover to get onto the planet"

"Not bad Miss Epson, not bad"

"Thank you General. Oh god, darkness better come soon" Fifi said breathing through the pain she was in "that bitch is dead when I get hold of her"

Maybelle slowly came round, she was lying on the floor with a dirty sheet over her. She sat up to find a tall slim ruggedly handsome man working on a computer, she grabbed her gun and pointed at him

"Who are you" she asked, the man turned around

"Don't shoot, I promise I won't hurt you, I'm not on their side, I'm a prisoner just like you" he told her

"Really"

"Yes , if we work together we can both get off this ship" he took a step towards her "Please put the gun down"

Maybelle hesitated but finally lowered her gun,

"What's your name" the man asked her

"Maybelle"

"Pretty, I'm Coby" he turned back to the computer

"I'm trying to reprogram one of the escape pods, they are currently programmed to land on the nearest planet, I'm trying to get it to take me to Astrith"

"Your an Astrithian"

"Yes I am and you're an Arizonian" Coby told her

"State the obvious" Maybelle said moving over to the computer, as she did she noticed parts of his body where horrendously scarred, but he still looked handsome and Maybelle couldn't help being attracted to him

"How did you get here" she asked

"I'm part of the Astrithian Army, there was an unknown object in our planet's orbit, I flew out to see what it was, the next thing I know I'm waking up in the Krygons Torture Chamber" Coby replied

"Oh Coby I'm so sorry, is that how you got your em...scars"

"Yes it is" he carried on "I've been here three years now, surprised I'm still alive" he looked at Maybelle to see a tear roll down her cheek

"Don't cry Maybelle" he told her gently

"I'm sorry I can't imagine how this has effective you, you must be so broken" she wiped her eyes

"I am a little bit, but it's not going to destroy my life, I'm not going to let it, when I get out of here I'm going to live a nice quiet life or maybe go travailing or live on a different planet" he looked at Maybelle "I've not quite made up my mind yet" he looked at her worried face "I will get you out of here Maybelle, we will go to Astrith and get help for your planet, I've seen their army and one army is not enough to defeat them, they'll wipe you all out" Coby told her

"I wouldn't be so sure" Maybelle told him

"What makes you say that"

"My friend, Antonia"

"And what is so special about your friend" he asked

"She's the next Difinity" Maybelle told him. Cody looked at her astonished.

Arazona Chapter 13

Chapter 13

"The Planet is clear of Krygons President Homestead" Lieutenant Broderick reported

"Give the civilians the all clear" he replied

"The Krygon ships are just outside the planets orbit, our ships have eyes on them, we will know if they attack again before they reach the planet" Crystal told her Father, they where sat in his office, Antonia got up to leave

"Antonia where are you going" President Homestead asked

"To make sure my Mother gets to the hospital"

"I'm going with her" Luke stood up

"Luke" Crystal said "be on guard we don't know what will happen"

"I will, come on Antonia" they both left the room.

"What will happen now" Seraphina asked

"There will be another attack at some point, their main target will be the city" General Alcatech replied

"We need to stop them, we can't let this escalate into a fully blown war" Crystal stated

"There is only one way to stop them, kill their General and the rest will surrender" President Homestead told them

"Yes but Father, their General is elected and impossible to kill and they always come in army's, we'll never get close enough to strike him"

"I know Crystal, a battle is the only way at the moment"

"Arnold we can't risk losing a whole army, these creatures are brutal"

"I know Seffie, I know, but at the moment, it's the only plan we've got" President Homestead looked at his wife worryingly.

"You said you would kill her" the Krygon General spat at Fifi

"Yes, but it turns out she's the next Difinity" Fifi stood in the middle of the bridge deck of the Krygon's main ship, a dark and gloomy place if she ever saw one "I will not stop until Luke it mine"

"That seems impossible seeing as he's in love with Difinity and not some little spoilt brat like you"

"General please" Fifi started

"Please what, what use are you to us now Miss Epson we can win this fight on our own, all we needed was the shield deactivating" Krygons closed in around her

"Yes but I destroyed it instead General, I didn't just deactivate it; at this very moment there is no active shield, you can attack at any moment" Fifi smiled, the Krygon General looked at her,

"Clever one you are, you gave us what we needed to destroy the planet, a planet that is usually not so easy to attack"

"Yes, I am on your side General, after Arizona's civilisation is destroyed me and Luke can rebuild somewhere new and be an ally to your people, all I ask is that you don't hurt Luke" Fifi pleaded

"I cannot make that promise, he is loyal to his planet and will do whatever it takes to destroy us, if you want him alive you must protect him yourself"

"Easier said than done" Fifi told the Krygon General

"You two deploy to the planet's surface unnoticed, kill as many gifted as you can, I want them wiped out before we meet the Arizonian army in battle" The General said to two Krygons standing nearby, they turned and walked away.

"I'm glad you're ok Mum, I was really worried" Antonia sat by her Mother's bed in the hospital

"There's no need to be worried about me darling, you know that" Jasmine replied

"I know but I will always worry about you. Seraphina said you can stay with them whilst you recover"

"That's very nice of her but I can't do that, I would be a burden otherwise"

"Seraphina insisted and she won't take no for an answer" Antonia looked at her Mother "I need to tell you something"

"What is it Antonia"

"Seraphina was right, I am the next Difinity"

"Antonia are you sure" Jasmine sat up a bit

"Yes" Antonia brought out her wings via the bright light that could hide them,

"Oh Antonia you make me so proud" Jasmine told her daughter

"The next Difinity is said to be the most powerful of them all you know" a woman in the next bed said

"Excuse me" Antonia asked her

"Something that my ancestors has been passed down my family for generations " the woman answered

"The most powerful you say, are you sure"

"Yes my girl, you will be the one to kill the Krygon General, the General that has been around the longest, since before that last Difinity reigned"

Antonia looked at her Mother.

      Antonia took up patrol a few days later while the Arizonians tried to live their lives as normal as possible,

"How's it going" Maybelle asked her as she walked by

"There's a few Krygon's on the planet, one attacked a few of the Gifted yesterday. I think the Generals sent them to kill us"

"Have they succeeded"

"Not yet, the ones they have attacked have proven strong, Shiloh got injured, but our newest recruit Néana is amazing, she's telepathic and can create masses of electricity and absorb it, she found out she was Gifted when she got electrocuted by a faulty wire and absorbed the energy" There was a noise from a nearby alleyway, Antonia signalled to Maybelle to stay back as she checked it out, she peered round the corner, she jumped back as a Krygon shot it's blaster at her. It jumped out, sword ready to cut Antonia down, she drew her sword and began to fight, the Krygon taking the first swing. Civilians on the street ran for cover, those already inside watched from the windows, Antonia fended of the Krygon using everything she knew but it threw her to the ground,

"Antonia" Maybelle cried, the ground cracked around the Krygon, Poisonous Vines came crawling out, climbing their way up the Krygons let, it looked at it, the tip of one vine stretched out then plunged itself into the Krygons leg, it screamed in pain as the rest followed and spread throughout its body. It dropped down dead.

Antonia stood up relieved she had won. With her back turned another Krygon crept up behind her out of nowhere, its sword raised to strike her, Maybelle looked in horror, but before it could act,  Luke came out of nowhere himself, his fire sword blazing bright and blazing hot, he fought off the Krygon who retreated but not before grabbing Maybelle,

"Maybelle" Antonia screamed, her wings burst out of nowhere and she flew off after them, before she could catch up to them, they beamed off the planet. Antonia dropped to her knees devastated her best friend had been kidnapped. 

Lintwood Farm Chapter 26

Chapter 26

The next afternoon Anthony called round for Jennifer to take her riding again,

"Don't worry I will have her back before sunset I promise" he told Ian after explaining he was taking her up to an old ruin not far from the farm

"Oh I'm not worried, I know you will take good care of her" Ian replied.

They set out on Jennifer horse and slowly made their way up to the old ruin on a hill nearby. The ruin was only small and looked like it had only one room when in use,

"I brought us a picnic" Anthony said as he tied the horse to a nearby tree. He took off his backpack and pulled out a blanket and some sandwiches. They sat down and ate, as they did they admired the view from the top of the hill. Jennifer thought about what Ellie had told her the day before and wondered if she should say something,

"The view from up here is stunning isn't it " Anthony said

"Yes it is, I've never seen anything like it" Jennifer replied. They sat in silence for a few minutes look out the view,

"So have you hear anything from your brother lately" he asked

"Not for a while, but ever since Auschwitz was liberated I've got the feeling that this war is nearly over and he will be coming home soon" she bowed her head in doubt, Anthony moved closer and put his arm round her,

"I have exactly the same feeling, first Italy surrender, then the concentration camps are liberated, it has to be near the end it just has to be" they looked at each other

"You know there is still one camp still active" she told him

"I know but it will be liberated soon enough" he pulled her closer and they admired the view once more,

"Anthony can I ask you something" Jennifer asked

"Sure" he looked at her

"Well, Ellie has it in her head that you like me, I mean really like me you know romantically and I was just wondering if you do" she asked him, he looked at her and kissed her,

"Of course I do" he said and he kissed her again.

"I wanted to get to know you before anything happened between us" Anthony told Jennifer as they lied cuddled up in the blanket looking up at the sky "The more I got to knew you they more my feeling for you grew"

"Really"

"Of course, your amazing Jenny" Anthony took her hand in his and caressed her skin,

"You know I'm surprised it took your family so long to tell you that I like you"

"Me too, usually my sister tells me but I guess she's grown out if it" Jennifer sat up,

"Are you ok" Anthony asked

"Yes, I'm just a bit cold" she replied, Anthony sat up,

"Let's go for a walk then" he said. They packed up and untied the horse then went back down the hill. They walked along a nearby river, they stopped off and sat on a rock not far from the water. Anthony put his arm around Jennifer and pulled her close to keep her warm. Jennifer snuggled up to him as they watched the horse drink from the river

"It's so beautiful here by the river isn't it" she said looking around

"Yes it is, we should come back in the summer and have a swim" Anthony replied

"It's a date" Jennifer smiled and kissed her new boyfriend. Anthony pulled out the blanket and wrapped it around her to keep her warm.

They road home a few hours later, as they entered the stable they were greeted by Ian,

"Hi you two did you have a nice afternoon"

"Yes it was great thanks Dad" Jennifer said, she helped Anthony sort out the horse and then Anthony walked her to the front door, Ian had gone inside a few minutes before them

"So I had a great time today" Jennifer told Anthony as they walked hand in hand,

"Me too, can I see you tomorrow after you finished work" Anthony asked

"Of course, you can pick me up if you like" they stopped at the door

"Ok I will, I look forwards to it"

"Me too" they both leaned in and kissed each other.

Inside everyone else was in the dining room just about to start dinner, Lindsey looked out of the window,

"Anthony and Jenny are kissing" she ran over to the window and banged on it,

"Lindsey come sit back down now" Ellie told her, Lindsey sat back down. Ellie went to the front door,

"Jenny just in time we're about to start dinner" Ellie told Jennifer who was now looking mortified at being caught,

"Would you like to stay for dinner Anthony" Ellie asked

"If it's ok with Jenny" he replied. Jennifer's face lit up and she smiled

"I'll take that as yes shall I" Anthony smiled back and gave her a little hug

     At dinner Anthony and Jennifer told everyone about the view from the hill where the old ruin stood,

"It is stunning, so breathtaking I could have looked at it all day you can see for miles" Jennifer said

"We will have to go there at some point, maybe in the summer, we can take a picnic" Ian said

"Sound great" Ellie replied

"You can also see Aimsbrough in the distance which is not surprising seeing you can see for miles like Jenny said" Antony put in

"What's Aimsbrough" Chrissie asked

"The nearby town we all go to when we need to" Nicky told her

"Is that what's is called, I never knew that"

"Well we've had a wonderful day and I can almost ride a horse by myself" Jennifer said excitedly

"You're doing amazingly" Anthony told her, he kissed her then stopped with heat of everyone watching him

"Sorry" he apologised "got caught in the moment"

"Told you he was Jenny's boyfriend" Lindsey said to Chrissie

"Alright no need to be all cocky about it" Chrissie replied

"I'm not I'm just saying"

"Dad I hope you don't mind" Jennifer said to her Father

"It's ok, I couldn't ask for anyone better for my daughter" Ian smiled at them, Anthony took Jennifer's hand under the table

"Jen Jen got a boyfriend" Bonnie sang as she played with her food, she smiled and laugh.

Lintwood Farm Chapter 25

Chapter 25

"So how are things with Antony" Ellie asked Jennifer as they went through paperwork for the shop

"What do you mean" Jennifer asked

"Well you've been spending a lot of time together over the past few months and I can tell you like him" she looked at Jennifer

"Well, ok, I like him, I really like him but I don't know if he likes me" Jennifer said

"Of course he likes you" Ellie said

"How do you know" she asked

"Well, one, I can tell by the way he looks at you, two, he spends a lot of time here, three, he finds any excuse to come to the shop, four, why wouldn't he and five, he told us"

"What when and who's us" Jennifer asked surprised at what she had just heard

"In the living room the day Patrick was born, everyone but you, Ian and Auntie Maria were there" Ellie looked at her "Jenny you should tell him how you feel, it could be the best thing to ever happen to you"

"I know, I really like him, I'll think about it" they continued with their work,

"Where's Patrick" Jennifer asked

"With my Mum, she'll bring him through when he needs feeding"

     "Ellie, Patrick needs feeding" Nicky brought Patrick though an hour later

"Thanks Mum" Ellie took her son and started to feed him, Bonnie had followed her grandmother through with Meg in tow

"Mummy, Patic started crying" she told her mother

"I know darling, he's hungry at the moment"

"How much have you got left to do you two" Nicky asked

Not much, I can finish it on my own" Jennifer replied

"Great, I'm going to do some laundry, I'll also wash today's dirty nappies to save you the trouble later" Nicky told Ellie

"Thanks Mum" Nicky left the room. A short time later Ellie burped her son,

"I'm going to take the kids into the living room and make a fire, are you going to be ok" Ellie asked Jennifer,

"Done, I'll join you for a bit, cup of tea" Jennifer put all the paperwork back into the right folders and went to make a pot of tea. They sat in the living room, fire roaring, playing a game of cards while Patrick slept and Bonnie sat on her Mother's knee, Ellie notice a newspaper dated at the end of January lying under the coffee table, she picked it up,

"Auschwitz has been liberated, how did I miss this" she looked at Jennifer

"Yes it has it was only a few weeks after Patrick was born, you were asleep when Dad brought the paper home. I think there's still one active, hopefully they will liberate that one too"

"Yeah hopefully. Maybe this war is finally nearly over" Ellie said looking at the paper

"I hope so, I can't stand carrying this around anymore" Jennifer held her gas mask up which was in its box,

"I know and Chrissie has left hers lying around again" Ellie held up Chrissie's gas mask "Can you watch Patrick and Bonnie whilst I got give it to her"

"Sure"

"Thanks Jenny" Ellie got up, put her coat on and went out to the Chicken run,

"Chrissie Pickard" Ellie stood at the gate to the run holding a cardboard box with a piece of string. Chrissie sighed and walked over to get it,

"I thought you wouldn't find it" she took it and put it around her shoulder

"You know you need to wear it until the war is over"

"But I'm sick of wearing it" Chrissie complained

"You're not the only one" Ellie turned and went back into the house. Five minutes later Maria walked into the house

"Hello everyone, how are we all" she said as she sat in the armchair

"We're great thanks, how are you Auntie Maria" Ellie replied

"I'm very well, I've found a place for my new pub" Maria told them

"Ooo where" Jennifer asked

"That big abandoned house, you know the one that burnt down just after you moved here Ellie"

"Oh yes, the one just down from the bus stop. But Auntie Maria that's been completely damaged, you'll have to knock it down and start from scratch" Ellie expressed

"That's what the Mayor said, but he said it was a great idea and I should talk about it at the impending meeting that's still waiting for a date to be set"

"Well we will have to wait for the war to finish first, there is no point starting something if it's just going to get blown up" Ellie told her Auntie

"Good point" Jennifer said

"Where's your Mother" Maria asked

"Doing the laundry" Ellie told her

"Oh really, I should have brought mine" Maria smiled, Ellie and Jennifer laugh.

     "Oh is that the time, I should get dinner on" Ellie said a few hours later. She was still sat in the living room with Jennifer and Maria, Bonnie had been playing on the floor, Patrick lying in Ellie's arms, she got up and made her way towards the door,

"Here let me take him off you" Maria stood up and took Patrick from Ellie's arms

"Thank you Auntie Maria"

"I'll bring him though when he's hungry" she sat back down and rocked Patrick back and forth. Ellie went into the kitchen and made dinner, a beef stew that smelt delicious. She set the table even a place for Maria who didn't stay for dinner often anymore, since the farm had been fully restored Maria had been off doing her own thing. As soon as dinner was ready she called everyone though, Ian and Louis where a bit late due to being in the fields.
